World-leading materials science and technology consultancy Lucideon is targeting international growth with expansion in the Japanese market.
Read moreProduct Design undergraduate Ryan Crosbie has devised an innovative new chopping board, after witnessing his grandma struggling to safely cut vegetables. Her poor eyesight and loss of ability to grip means she had suffered some minor cuts and injuries.
His new design is a plastic chopping board with two magnetised grips to keep vegetables in place and shield the user’s hands. It also features a bright guide line, as a visual aid to help line the vegetables up with the knife.
Ryan said:
To help develop my product I conducted user testing with a group aged 65-80 and the reactions were amazing. People found it comfortable and really easy to use and even wanted one in their own kitchen.
His product ‘Chop’ is currently on display for We Are NTU Design Industries, a virtual exhibition displaying the work of final year Product Design Students.
